Job Description
Sourcing and Execution
- Initiate and develop sourcing strategies for high spend and critical commodities.
- Lead for assigned commodities - negotiations on all commercial terms and conditions during or after the tender process.
- Take a leading role in all responsible sourcing projects to meet internal customers’ requirements and to achieve the optimal benefits for the company.
- Supplier selection / recommendation and performance management through cost and value analysis, identification of cost saving potentials by volume bundling.
- Prepare RFx document, analyse RFx responses and lead the procurement, including, tendering and contracting process.
- Compile Purchase Order / Purchase Contract and maintain good record trail of transactions.
- Identify cost savings to meet goals.
- Develop criteria and checklists to evaluate suppliers' proposals based on technical, commercial and timeline aspects.
- Co-ordinate logistics, supply and product specification and quality issues concerning incoming supply with the suppliers.
- Analyse and evaluate the product pricing trends on the existing as well as new products to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Quotation management (cost down and cost up analysis, new quotation cost analysis).
- Participate in regional / global IPS project activities in co-operation with regional / global commodity manager.
- Assist in ad-hoc procurement related projects and report analysis to senior management when necessary.
- Conduct assessment of supplier performance against agreed KPI.
- Identify and develop new suppliers.
- Ensure IPS supplier minimum requirements are adhered.
- Ensure Daimler compliance, integrity and sustainability standards are adhered to.
Contract Management
Negotiate and execute Long-Term Agreements and / or Full Service Supplier Contracts, where appropriate, for assigned commodities.Interface between supplier and appropriate internal departments such as business unit, Legal, Accounting, Controlling, Tax.Periodically review and ensure validity of all Purchase ContractsStakeholder Management
Lead discussion with business unit to ensure proper planning of annual buys.Lead joint decision-making discussions with business unit on selection of suppliers for the respective buys.Lead discussions on all system related topics and enhancements.Sourcing Compliance
Ensure all sourcing arrangements are fully compliant to the existing policy, process instruction and the relevant guidelines.Ensure that all compliant requirements are met in areas of Supplier Due Diligence, Financial Risk Management.Maintenance and implementation of internal control of ICs.Management Reporting
Conduct spend analysis, maintain cost models and metrics by supplier and commodity, and communicate overall supplier performance.IPS capacity planning and savings achievementQualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering or related discipline.Experience (Type of)
At least 5years experience in procurement / supply chain environment with good knowledge of automotive business and supplier base. Good understanding of procurement principles, procedures and processes.Specific Knowledge / Skill
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skill in English.Excellent organizational, negotiation and influencing skills.Ability to work well under pressure, manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets.Proactive, accountable, organized, detail oriented, self-driven and a good team player.Analytical with good problem solving abilities.Ability to build and maintain effective collaborations with business partners both internally and externally.Sound understanding of market conditions, dynamics and economic environment with strong business acumen.Ability to initiate contract negotiation and proper documentation.Computer Literacy e.g. MS office and other applications.
