THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Cyber Security Administrator, you’ll play a key role in strengthening cyber resilience during a time of rapid digital transformation. Leveraging your expertise in SASE, firewalls, IDS / IPS, and cloud security tools, you’ll help safeguard vital systems and sensitive data while supporting best-in-class solutions across a national portfolio.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Cyber Security Administrator, you’ll play a key role in strengthening cyber resilience during a time of rapid digital transformation. Leveraging your expertise in SASE, firewalls, IDS / IPS, and cloud security tools, you’ll help safeguard vital systems and sensitive data while supporting best-in-class solutions across a national portfolio.

Work setup : Full-time in-office onboarding for the first month, with potential for hybrid or remote work based on performance. This is a 12-month contract-based role, renewed annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimise SASE solutions (preferably Cisco, open to others), implement zero trust and manage security systems.
  • Operate and manage EDR tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender) to secure endpoints.
  • Lead vulnerability management activities, from assessments to remediation.
  • Monitor and act on threat intelligence feeds (e.g., Threat Match or equivalent).
  • Support development and enforcement of security policies and compliance (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, APRA 234).
  • Assist with incident response, documentation, and internal audits.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Marketing, Communications, and other teams as needed.

Skills, Experience & Qualification

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in cybersecurity, including hands-on roles in security administration or operations
  • Experience in network administration with strong proficiency in security tools (SASE, SWG, CASB, firewalls, VPNs, IDS / IPS)
  • Practical experience with EDR tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike)
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, Rapid7, Qualys)
  • Exposure to CSPM solutions on MS Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or GCIH are highly regarded
