Assistant Purchasing Manager (Manufacturing | Tebrau)

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Assistant Purchasing Manager to lead and support our procurement team in a plastic injection moulding manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the purchasing team to achieve business goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing and vendor management.
Oversee purchasing policies, SOPs, and compliance.
Monitor industry trends, risks, and ensure reliable supply.
Manage procurement reports, budgets, and cost analysis.

Qualifications

Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

Minimum 5 years’ procurement / supply chain experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.

Strong in vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing.

Leadership skills with proven team management experience.

Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of import / export is an added advantage.

Willing to travel occasionally for supplier visits.

5.5-day workweek with alternate Saturdays off.

Willing to work in Tebrau.
