Excel Pipes Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. In this full‑time position, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex civil and structural engineering projects for our growing business.
Lead Engineer is responsible for the engineering coordination of projects. He manages a team of 1 to 5 engineers and must ensure an adequate number and quality of engineering resources for projects in execution. He maintains a good rapport with local authorities (SPAN, SYABAS, SAINS, AKSB, etc.) throughout Malaysia, and is intimately familiar with the water and sewer industries in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution and Control
Ensure project execution meets quality standards, prescribed installation methods, and safety requirements.
Manage engineering activities in terms of cost (engineering hours) and schedule adherence.Issue and maintain technical progress reports and oversee project workload management.Define and apply the project process‑control philosophy to ensure consistency across all engineering activities.Conduct and organize project design review meetings with relevant engineering teams.Set and monitor daily installation rates and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly pipe logs and reports are completed accurately and uploaded to the project database / server on time.Technical CoordinationCoordinate technical activities across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure alignment and proper document flow.
Collaborate closely with other project engineering teams to review, comment, and apply all project input documents.Participate in project clarification meetings to ensure all technical matters are properly addressed.Liaise with main contractors, sub‑contractors, suppliers and consultants to validate project engineering deliverables and resolve any discrepancies.Provide technical support to Project Managers or Project Leaders during project reviews, meetings and customer communications.Site and Team ManagementManage and supervise the on‑site engineering team during project execution.
Liaise with the site team to resolve technical issues promptly and implement necessary changes.Ensure compliance with company and project‑specific health, safety and environmental requirements.Documentation and ReportingCoordinate the preparation, review and issuance of project technical documentation.
Maintain and manage the Project Technical Document Register, ensuring each document’s issue date, revision and validation are tracked and acknowledged by all relevant stakeholders.Author, review and edit technical progress reports, site reports or other project‑related documentation as required.What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in the civil / structural engineering industry.Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from start to finish.Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and project management skills.Strong technical knowledge of civil / structural engineering principles, methods and software.Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.What We Offer
