Overview
The Head of Business Development will oversee the planning, organization, and management of the business’s P&L, including establishing robust management systems, driving quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and profitability, while cultivating strong external stakeholder relationships and executing expansion plans. This role is accountable for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the regional commercial organization and requires a strategic, solution-oriented, and resilient leader with proven success in building and fostering partnerships across diverse functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall business development department with P&L responsibility
- Lead the operation for both financial as well as customer aspects
- Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management to meet agreed organizational performance within agreed budgets and time
- Manage, coordinate and build a strong management team for commercial departments as well as support functions with other departments
- Provide leadership to achieve production goals while maximizing the efficient use of materials, equipment, and labor to maintain or exceed quality standard and minimize cost of order book acquisition
- Develop expansion strategies and initiatives, and build up project organization to implement growth plans
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, standards and systems to ensure smooth operation and compliance with legislation standards
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives and expansion plans as per business objective
- Ensure that operations run smoothly and according to company policy by implementing the company\'s policies and procedures
- Manage and control operation and non-operation costs within agreed budgets
- Monitor and implement quality standards by external bodies, and integrate within internal quality management systems
- Lead human and social capital initiatives to achieve business objectives and build relationships with local authorities and communities
- Be results-oriented and task-focused, with ability to drive Continuous Improvement and safety standards
- Promote work culture of excellence, professionalism and sustainability
- Establish organization and staffing with the right operating system and procedure in place for new growth projects
- Deliver QPC (Quality, Productivity & Cost) objectives and targets
- Build capacity and capability to manage both present and future growth plans
- Instill system / procedure to ensure business sustenance and performance
- Forecast sales and budgets and implement “out of the box” strategies / models and evaluate their effectiveness
Qualifications
Relevant degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business; MBA is an advantageMinimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role within industrial sectorsPreferably experienced in multinational companies with established practicesBackground in renewable energy or related industries is an advantageProven track record in techno-commercial business developmentBusiness-savvy, results-driven, cost-conscious, and committed to continuous improvementStrong leadership with integrity, able to inspire and promote company vision, mission, and valuesSkilled in driving cultural growth and change managementExcellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilitiesCapable of influencing and working effectively across cross-functional teamsDedicated to maintaining high safety standards and operational excellenceBenefits
