Responsibilities

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Communicate with guests / customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Ensure daily activities and issues are communicated to other shifts using approved programs and standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in air conditioning / refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or related categories; basic skills in other categories; and general building management.
• Use hand and power tools safely; repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering); troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment and systems.
• Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, and guestroom items; program TVs; perform housekeeping and engineering duties as needed.
• Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and cleaning of repair areas.
• Follow Lockout / Tagout procedures before maintenance work.
• Operate engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management.
• Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Mentor and train other engineers as needed; fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
