We are looking for a highly capable and responsible Asset Manager to oversee the full operational lifecycle of utility-scale solar power plant assets. This role is responsible for ensuring timely project completion, seamless transition to operation, optimal performance, regulatory and PPA compliance, vendor management, budget control, stakeholder communication, and HSSE governance. The Asset Manager will serve as the primary interface between internal teams, external contractors, authorities, and lenders, ensuring that all operational, technical, contractual, and environmental obligations are met with precision and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Project Completion & Handover
- Monitor the completion of solar projects up to Commercial Operation Date (COD).
- Follow up with EPCC contractors on punchlist items and defect rectification to ensure timely and quality completion.
- Ensure successful issuance and closure of the Commercial Close Certificate (CCC).
EPCC Coordination & CCC Completion
Coordinate closely with the EPCC contractor to track the issuance and closure of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).Validate delivery of project warranties, guarantees, and as-built documentation.Operations & Maintenance Monitoring
Supervise and coordinate with O&M vendors to ensure smooth, safe, and compliant operation of the plant.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including system availability, PR, and generation output.Ensure compliance with grid codes and authority requirements (e.g., TNB, Single Buyer, NLDC, GSO).Track and review O&M vendor deliverables and ensure alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Monitor and evaluate internal and outsourced team performance.Lead regular performance review meetings and corrective actions as necessary.Compliance & Governance
Ensure operations comply with corporate policies, procedures, and group guidelines.Ensure full HSSE compliance with local laws and internal safety standards.Liaise with government agencies and ensure all operational activities meet regulatory requirements.Prepare and submit all required reports for lenders, including :Technical reportsEnvironmental and Social (E&S) compliance reportsAny other contractual or reporting obligationsAct as a primary liaison with financial and technical advisors where needed.PPA & Contractual Commitment
Ensure that the plant fulfills all Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) obligations.Submit monthly generation billing on the 1st day of each month.Manage and maintain contracts and agreements with :EPCC contractorsOEMsThird-party service providersPlant Analysis & Monthly Reporting
Conduct detailed performance analysis and diagnostics of plant data to optimize output.Compile and present monthly operational reports to top management with performance insights and recommendations.Procurement & Budget Management
Oversee procurement activities including vendor selection, purchase orders, and contract finalization.Manage and monitor the operational asset budget, ensuring expenditures align with forecasts.Maintain proper documentation for administrative, procurement, and financial records.Stakeholder & Authority Engagement
Act as the main liaison with TNB, Single Buyer, NLDC, GSO, and other regulatory and grid entities.Ensure full compliance with authority requirements, permits, licenses, and operational regulations.Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly operations reports for internal use and top management review.Submit accurate monthly generation billing on or before the 1st day of each month.Conduct regular plant performance analysis to identify efficiency improvements or underperformance.Ensure timely submission of technical, environmental, and social (E&S) reports to lenders and stakeholders.Requirements
Degree in Engineering or equivalentAt least 4 years experience in solar power plant operations, asset management or EPC / O&M rolesFamiliarity with Malaysia’s power sector authorities (TNB, Single Buyer, GSO, NLDC) is highly advantageous.Strong knowledge of grid compliance, PPA management, and HSSE regulations.Proven track record in vendor, budget, and stakeholder managementStrong project management and analytical skillsAt ENGIE, every talent has a role to play in accelerating the energy transition.
