Job description
Job Responsibilities :
To assist the Head of Department (HOD) on all matters referred to the Legal Department.
To provide legal advice / opinion in respect of the business operation to safeguard company's interest.
To attend meeting held internally with other departments and externally.
To conduct research regarding matters of law and corporate risk and compliance.
To conduct legal due diligence on potential business or companies' acquisitions and corporate deals upon instruction of HOD or top management.
To prepare proposal papers / Board / EXCO papers on legal matters.
To monitor and liaise with the external solicitors on the Group's arbitration matters and to attend to the external solicitors' request / queries in respect of all Arbitration and Dispute Resolution matters.
To draft, review, vet and negotiate on the commercial / legal issues for the related agreement and to analyze contract on legal / commercial risks and provide timely advice to mitigate any risks.
To channel the new law / sources for the benefits and use of the Legal Department and recommending alternatives to ensure the compliance in respect of the business operation.
To discharge the duties as directed by the HOD / Management from time to time.
Job Requirements :
LLB (Hons) Degree from reputable university and possess valid Practicing Certificate.
Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience in litigation field.
Ability to draft commercial agreements and write legal opinion.
Knowledge in conveyancing, corporate exercise and employment related laws and regulations will be added advantage.
Familiar with laws pertaining to commercial contracts, commercial transaction, Bursa Listing Requirements, Companies Act 1965, etc.
Able to multi-tasks.
Proficient in both spoken and written in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Possess good interpersonal skills and able to work independently.
