Purpose

The Operations Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting plant operations, ensuring documentation accuracy, coordinating cylinder logistics, and maintaining compliance with Air Products (AP) standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, SAP proficiency, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. He or she shall ensure all safety requirements are implemented and adhered to by all employees and visitors to Shah Alam.

Work Schedule :

Normal schedule is Monday through Friday but requires extra hours on an ad hoc and sometimes call in basis. The ability to be flexible with working hours is an advantage in this role.

Principal Accountabilities

Trading Products Arrangement

Coordinate and manage empty cylinder readiness for trading products (PR / RT / Banana / Body labels).
Verify RTs sent to vendors are suitable for filling and correctly labeled.
Track HT compliance and follow up on quotations / PR / PO for additional services (HT, maintenance, painting, valve replacement).
Manually track and reconcile PO quantities vs. actual empty cylinders delivered.
Coordinate physical receiving and SAP MIGO processing :
Ensure all the full cylinder received (trading product)comply to AP standard.

Daily Operations

Oversee daily plant operations, including troubleshooting and maintaining optimal operating conditions.

Monitor production outputs and escalate issues to the Plant Manager.

Ensure operational KPIs are met and sustained at target levels.

Maintain proper recording and control of plant activities at all times.

Coordinate and fulfill daily refilling operation requirements.

Prepare monthly production reports for review.

Vendor Coordination

Conduct weekly meetings with suppliers to follow up on :

Outstanding POs

Full cylinder readiness

RT shortages

HT cylinder / maintenance status

Continuous Improvement

Understand and apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with plant safety rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards.

Responsible for safety and regulatory compliance and management at the facility.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in plant operations or supply chain support.

Open to fresh graduates.

Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Effective communication and vendor management abilities.

Good in written & spoken English.
