The Digital Engineer builds data capabilities to enable development and scaling of digital use cases.
Responsibilities / Key Activities :
Main purpose
Implement, maintain, and improve the OT Data Foundation across APAC sites.
Build data capabilities to enable development and scaling digital use cases. The Digital Engineer works closely with factory Automation, Process Improvement, Continuous Improvement teams, and the Global Engineering Digitalization & Automation group.
KPIs
Deliver OT Data Foundation and digital project CER commitments.
Leadership :
- Promote digital transformation by collaborating in agile methodology to create value from data for end-users.
- Work with scaling up in mind for re-application of use cases in other factories.
- Develop and safeguard JDE data models according to standards.
- Continuously develop skills and foster digitalization within the organization.
Delivery & Cost :
Build data capabilities within OT Data Foundation
Extract and tag OT data from PLC, SCADA, MES, Gateways, IoT devices.Ingest data into the OT Data Foundation platform.Contextualize data within the Asset Data Model.Build extended data models for specific use cases following global standards.Collaborate with Data Foundation Lead to maintain standards, data lineages, and data quality.Maintain documentation such as factory system landscape.Act as OT Data Foundation regional Product Owner.Collaborate with MOS improvement teams for potential improvements.Support MOS Pillars, Kaizen teams, and other departments.Exchange and benchmark with other factories for solutions.Lead digital projects and support other factories.Manage communication and change management for adoption.Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies and collaborate with vendors.Develop and maintain digital use cases
Enable digital use cases by building data capabilities.Discover and prototype MVPs, test, adapt, and scale or fail fast.Roll-out digital use cases, IT / OT projects, and Engineering Projects
Lead or participate in digital projects.Follow waterfall project management where applicable.Maintain Asset Data Model and Production Data Model standards for new / changed equipment.Qualifications
We are looking for someone with :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Industrial IT, or related field.3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.Expertise in OT systems : PLC, SCADA, MES.Knowledge of IoT devices, communication protocols, gateways.Understanding of TCP / IP, UDP, Ethernet.Experience with Continuous Improvement, TPM concepts.Familiarity with waterfall and agile project methodologies.Interpersonal skills : training, coaching, change management.Structured, driven, energetic personality with excellent communication skills.Additional Information
