About the Role
We are looking for a skilled System Test Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll develop and maintain automated testing solutions for compute trays and rack systems, with a focus on firmware, BIOS, and overall system‑level validation. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure test coverage, system reliability, and long‑term product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated test scripts, tools, and frameworks for validating firmware, BIOS, and system functionality of compute hardware.
- Maintain and improve burn‑in testing environments, integrating monitoring and reporting features to enhance test stability and reliability.
- Partner with System Engineers and NPI teams to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements and build validation plans.
- Conduct root cause analysis of test failures, working collaboratively with Quality and Operations teams to diagnose and resolve hardware / firmware issues.
- Develop tools for test data logging, analysis, and dashboard visualization to support performance tracking and long‑term reliability metrics.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test procedures, test plans, and version‑controlled automation scripts.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend process or tooling improvements to drive continuous enhancement of validation efforts.
- Contribute to the future development of scalable, automated test strategies with a focus on design‑for‑test principles for in‑house rack products.
- Provide remote support to Data Center Service Support Engineers for issue resolution and test deployment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical / Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.Minimum 3 years of experience in test automation, embedded systems, or firmware validation.Proficiency in Python, C / C++, or shell scripting for test development and automation.Solid understanding of server hardware, firmware, BIOS, and system‑level testing.Hands‑on experience with test frameworks and CI / CD tools such as Pytest, Jenkins, and similar platforms.Familiarity with data logging, analysis, and visualization tools to interpret system behavior and performance.Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for diagnosing complex hardware‑software interaction issues.Effective communicator and team player, able to collaborate across engineering, quality, and operations functions.Comfortable working in lab‑based environments with a practical, hands‑on approach.Highly organized and detail‑driven, with a focus on creating maintainable and scalable testing solutions.About Our Client
