About the role

As a Cost Controller at Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns (A member of OSK Group), you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial performance. Working in a full-time position based in Kuantan, Pahang, you will be responsible for overseeing the cost accounting function to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and analyse detailed cost reports, budgets and variance analyses for management review
  • Monitor and control operational costs to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide support in the preparation of financial statements and other regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide cost-related insights and recommendations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the cost accounting function

Cost Monitoring & Control

Monitor and control all hotel cost-related activities including food, beverage, and operational supplies.

  • Ensure proper cost allocation to relevant departments.
  • Inventory Management

  • Conduct monthly stock counts for all outlets (F&B, housekeeping, stores, etc.).
  • Verify and reconcile physical inventory against system reports.
  • Investigate variances and report discrepancies.
  • Purchasing & Receiving Oversight

  • Cross-check all purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices for price, quantity, and quality.
  • Ensure goods received match the approved purchase order and are within budget.
  • Daily & Monthly Reporting

  • Prepare daily flash reports for food and beverage costs.
  • Submit monthly cost reports and analysis to management.
  • Provide variance analysis and cost-saving recommendations.
  • What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a cost accounting or financial analysis role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of financial software and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
