Job description

The QA / QC Manager (MEP) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in compliance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements. This role ensures all MEP installation works meet the stringent quality standards required for cleanroom and industrial projects such as semiconductor facilities, pharmaceutical plants, and data centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement project-specific QA / QC plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and method statements for all MEP disciplines.
  • Ensure MEP works comply with design drawings, project specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct material inspections, installation checks, and testing / commissioning verification for all MEP systems.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective / preventive action plans to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain QA / QC documentation including inspection reports, calibration records, and test certificates.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors for quality audits and inspections.
  • Ensure all QA / QC records are properly filed and maintained for project handover.

    • Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and guide QA / QC engineers and inspectors across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Provide quality training and awareness to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with the construction, design, and commissioning teams to resolve technical and quality issues promptly.

    • Project-Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee cleanroom construction quality including HVAC, air filtration, ducting, piping, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with contamination control standards (ISO 14644, GMP, etc.) where applicable.
  • Monitor MEP installations in high-spec industrial environments such as semiconductor, data center, or pharmaceutical projects.

    • Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in QA / QC management for MEP works in industrial or cleanroom construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IEEE, ISO, etc.).
  • Familiar with cleanroom design and validation processes.
  • Proven experience in documentation, audit handling, and client interfacing.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in ISO 9001 : 2015, CQE, or similar will be an added advantage.
