Responsibilities
Lead production operations : Oversee daily production activities to ensure alignment with SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale) targets, capacity goals, and regulatory compliance.
Production planning & execution : Manage and monitor production schedules to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery in line with customer and business demands.
Resource planning : Review and assess resource requirements including manpower, machinery, and facilities to ensure operational readiness. Develop and submit proposals for Head of Department (HoD) approval.
Cross-functional collaboration : Work closely with process engineering and maintenance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive productivity improvements.
Shopfloor oversight : Supervise shopfloor operations to ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
Safety & ergonomics improvement : Review operational reports and provide guidance to the Production Admin team to identify and implement improvements in workplace safety and ergonomics.
Key performance monitoring : Communicate departmental KPIs clearly, monitor team performance regularly, and ensure the achievement of operational targets.
Employee development : Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions; develop and implement training plans to enhance employee competencies and support career growth.
Direct workforce development : Review the progress of direct labour skill training and collaborate with the Production Admin team to build a skilled workforce that meets operational requirements.
Budget planning & cost control : Review and prepare budget proposals for HoD approval. Monitor production expenditures against the approved budget and proactively identify cost-reduction opportunities.
Manpower & cost efficiency : Manage manpower planning and overtime allocation to optimize operational costs while maintaining workforce productivity.
Job Requirements
Minimum Degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years working experience in manufacturing environment
Basic computer literacy
Basic lean manufacturing knowledge
Awareness of IATF 16949 / ISO 9000 standards
Understanding environment, safety and health practices
