Definition of Mechanical for the Job includes Mechanical-related provisions for temporary and permanent functionality of the project, not limited to ACMV / Environmental Control System, Sanitary & Cold Water Plumbing, Lifts & Escalators, Fire Protection and Detection System and etc.
Responsibilities
- Undertake and deliver high-quality detailed engineering design review for Mechanical building services and external infrastructure, but not limited to LRT / MRT stations, pumping stations, data centres, and any other infrastructures.
- Understand building mechanical services, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other documents required to complete the projects.
- Review and management of the project from inception to post-construction.
- Manage the implementation of Mechanical engineering for design and construction.
- Plan, review, and monitor Mechanical design deliverables to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with employer and authority requirements.
- Liaise and coordinate with Mechanical / Electrical consultants, supervising consultants, contractors, and authorities.
- Review design documents, shop drawings, material submissions, technical queries, and As-Built drawings.
- Monitor authority submissions, inspections, and CCC requirements.
- Attend design meetings, site meetings, inspections, and testing & commissioning of Mechanical equipment.
- Ensure site works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support, resolve design / site issues, and prepare reports and presentations.
- Review and coordinate Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and training for Mechanical services.
- Monitor construction schedules to ensure the timely delivery of Mechanical works.
- Conduct site visits, audits, and QA / QC checks to minimize non-compliance and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support design evaluations, propose solutions, and follow up on implementation.
- Participate in developing Mechanical design documents, including drawings, calculations, data sheets, and specifications.
- Coordinate and follow up on submissions from contractors and consultants.
- Report and assist in resolving comments from stakeholders.
- Act as a key technical team member and provide leadership in the Mechanical engineering aspects of projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Minimum 8 years in mechanical design engineering, with a minimum 5 years in rail project (LRT, MRT).Skills & Abilities
Related project experience using CAD / BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit).Strong knowledge of mechanical system design such as Environmental Control System (ACMV), Fire Protection and Detection System, Cold Water and Sanitary Plumbing System, Vertical Transportation System and etc.Expected Minimum Years of Experience
Minimum 8 years in mechanical design engineering, with a minimum 5 years in rail project (LRT, MRT).Seniority level
