A Supv 2, Production is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of intermediate and advanced technologies production processes and operations of the department. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities, and initiates and fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules, resolving problems; reporting results or the process flow on shift production summaries. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing basic production performance KPMs, records and data; answering questions and responding to request. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

In addition to the Production Supervisor position summary :

A Sr Production Supervisor will generally have an expanded scope of responsibility and increased complexity in the role. Such as, will generally manage a larger team, multiple or varied departments, and / or multiple shifts. Sr Production Supervisors may also manage a combination of both exempt and non-exempt roles. The Sr Production Supervisor is more experienced to effectively manage the larger scope and complexity of the role.

Must manage intermediate and / or advanced technology equipment and processes.

Essential responsibilities

• Leads, manages and schedules employees within the Production Department with intermediate and / or advanced technology processes and equipment. Supports, motivates and enables employees to innovate, gain technical knowledge, participate in process improvements, and maintain quality awareness standards. Recruits new production operators and manages current staff with evaluations, promotions, and employment actions, including exempt and non-exempt personnel.
• Is responsible for an efficient daily operation in the production areas. Gathers production data and compares it to established standards for accuracy, (I.e. – scrap, OEE, EHE and quality). Is responsible for the conveyance of all daily issues to other shift. Monitor and identify action plans required to achieve financial and dashboard KPM goals and drive / coordinate teams to achieve required results. Metrics include BVA, contribution margin (or related measures) all dashboard metrics, (workload, execution, OTS, ATF, inventory control, etc.).
• Coordinates long term repair work and improvements with other support departments, like Engineering, Finance, Management, Maintenance, Tool & Die, and Process Improvement.
• Supervises the quality, safety, security, work conditions and is responsible for organization of housekeeping activities within the department, including TPM, 5S and Kanban replenishment. Active leader / promoter of Panduit's key programs, (including Cultural Beliefs - (PIL training), Process Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, TWI, Safety, etc...).
• Ability to manage team to achieve strong results and achieve strong employee engagement. Develops talent for current and future department needs, including succession planning.
