Requirements
Academic Qualifications :
- Minimum Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) / Polytechnic Certificate in Electrical or equivalent.
Professional Certificates & Licenses :
Possession of a valid Chargeman license (e.g. A0, A1, A4, BO, or B4) issued by the Energy Commission (ST).License in its valid period.Experience :
At least 2–5 years of experience in the field of maintenance, installation, and testing of electrical systems at construction sites or commercial buildings.Technical Skills :
Able to read electrical drawings (Single Line Diagram, Layout).Experience in wiring systems, MSB, DB, MCB, VSD, motors, and grounding systems.Know how to use electrical testing equipment such as insulation tester, earth tester, etc.Additional Skills :
Able to work independently or in a team.Able to supervise a technical team or sub-contractors.Preference will be given to candidates who can work outside office hours / on-call.Others :
Physically healthy and no bad disciplinary record.Have a driver's license (if required to move between sites).Responsibilities
1.Electrical System Installation
Installing electrical wiring systems according to electrical drawing plans (Schematic & Single Line Diagram).Installing switches, sockets, distribution boards (DB), lights, and other electrical equipment.Connecting the main cable to the main distribution panel (Main Switchboard - MSB).Ensuring that installation work complies with the Energy Commission (ST) and MS IEC standards.2. Site Supervision
Supervising electrical work carried out by subcontractors or subordinate electricians.Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.Checking and approving work before testing or handing over.3. Testing & Commissioning
Conducting current leakage tests, grounding / earthing tests, and electrical system function tests.Making test reports and ensuring that the electrical system is safe to use.Involved in system commissioning with engineers and client representatives.4. Maintenance & Repair
Maintain the electrical system throughout the construction period and after the project is completed (if necessary).Troubleshoot electrical damage or interruptions.Replace faulty electrical components such as fuses, relays, and MCBs.5. Electrical Safety Monitoring
Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations (Electrical Regulations 1994).Report any hazardous risks to management.Provide proper insulation, grounding, and lightning protection systems.6. Documentation & Reports
Provide daily work reports, maintenance logs, and test forms.Provide documentation for electrical system registration applications to ST.Assist in periodic audits and inspections by authorities (e.g. ST, CIDB, DOSH).7. Stakeholder Relations
Liaise with M&E engineers, architects, main contractors, and sub-contractors.Provide technical advice on electrical systems during site meetings.Benefits
