Your Role in the Equation

Be part of our client’s team as an Accounts & Payroll Officer , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across accounts payable, payroll, and financial operations. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining efficiency, precision, and trust across global financial processes.

Employment type : Full‑time

Shift : Day shift

Work setup : Hybrid (2‑3 days in office per week, Kuala Lumpur)

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Certificate or tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Bookkeeping
  • 3–5 years of experience in a finance or accounts administration role
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation
  • Experience with Xero, Employment Hero, Salesforce, AirWallex, and Dext (highly desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Police Clearance (if required by customer sites or projects)
  • What You’ll Do

    Procure to Pay

  • Handle end‑to‑end accounts payable process from purchase order to supplier payment.
  • Distribute invoices for approval and monitor the AP inbox.
  • Review and process transactions via AirWallex and Dext, ensuring data accuracy and completeness before submission for Financial Controller review.
  • Perform supplier and vendor payment reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
  • Address AP inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate recording of departmental costs to support budget holders.
  • Payroll

  • Process fortnightly payroll, including employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain rosters in the Time and Attendance system.
  • Process payments and lodge statutory returns for superannuation, payroll tax, and child support.
  • Handle apprenticeship and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll clearing accounts.
  • Reconcile and process payments for creditors.
  • Conduct annual minimum wage audits for employees.
  • Order to Cash

  • Provide backup support to the Accounts & Billing Officer.
  • Validate and enter purchase orders in Salesforce, verify accuracy, and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Manage end‑to‑end accounts receivable process, including overdue follow‑ups and sending payment reminders.
  • Process customer credit applications and assist with supporting documentation for tenders.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for all accounts receivable accounts.
  • Manage bespoke contractual invoicing processes, including :
  • East Coast projects
  • Argyle invoicing
  • Prepare annual price book review for Financial Controller analysis.
  • Other Finance Duties

  • Compile timesheet reports for customer compliance using Employment Hero.
  • Send fortnightly reminders to managers and employees to submit timesheets, especially for casual or site‑traveling staff.
  • Prepare monthly payroll tax calculations and journal entries in Xero for Financial Controller review.
  • Assist in preparing R&D cost schedules for submission to third‑party providers.
  • Maintain and review the Fixed Asset Register in Xero according to accounting policies.
  • Post monthly depreciation entries in line with accounting standards.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional tasks or duties as reasonably assigned by leadership, within skills and safety guidelines.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Promote workplace health and safety compliance in line with company policies.
  • Attend all mandatory training and compliance sessions or coordinate rescheduling if necessary.
  • Participate actively in risk assessment and hazard identification activities.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with company values.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to support business growth.
