Overview
The Production Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of production equipment and machinery through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues to ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of duties to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and plant facility equipment.
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operations and conduct scheduled maintenance during planned downtimes to minimize equipment breakdown time.
- Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills to maintain and service production machinery.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and servicing tasks effectively.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair defective parts, test systems, and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper functioning.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities. Independently manage facility maintenance tasks or coordinate with subcontractors to align with the maintenance schedule.
- Perform general plumbing and carpentry tasks as part of facility upkeep.
- Utilize various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment for maintenance operations.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions and report them promptly to the appropriate supervision.
- Accurately record and document all machine breakdowns, ensuring proper reporting and follow-up.
- Ensure preventive maintenance checklists and tool change programs are consistently updated and maintained.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Proactively implement facility improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and workplace safety.
- Actively participate in 5S and other continuous improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Any other duties as and when assigned by the Superior from time to time.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least "O" Level / STPM / Diploma, higher STPM / "A" Level / Pre-U in others or equivalent. (Any additional certificate related to Mechanical and Electronic is an advantage)At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this positionPreferably Non-Executive specialized in Maintenance / Repair (Facilities & Machinery) or equivalentBasic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point)Note : ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE NOTIFIED.
