Job Title : Cultural Advisor – SOFLE Malaysia

Location : U.S. Embassy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (with travel throughout the country)

Type : Contractor / Full-Time

About the Role :

ITBM is seeking a Cultural Advisor to support the Special Operations Forces Liaison Element (SOFLE) in Malaysia. The advisor will provide expert guidance on Malaysia’s cultural, historical, political, and social environments, deliver translation and interpretation services, and support SOFLE operations across the country.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide cultural, historical, political, and social analysis to support SOFLE operations.
• Translate and interpret between English and Malay; Cantonese or Mandarin a plus.
• Maintain continuity of contacts and relationships across SOFLE activities.
• Coordinate meetings, programs, and events with government agencies, NGOs, and civil society organizations.
• Prepare and submit official documents to Malaysian entities.
• Conduct field visits, briefings, and on-the-ground assessments.
• Produce concise meeting notes with recommendations within 2 working days.
