As the Head of Production Department at Norman Process Oils Malaysia Plant Sdn Bhd, we are seeking a motivated, detail-focused leader to manage daily production operations and guide our team in delivering efficient, high-quality manufacturing results. What you'll be doing

1.1 Ensure stability of production plant by doing process analysis, optimization & troubleshoot to achieve the required productivity & quality with efficient raw materials, chemicals & energy consumption.

1.2 Ensure all technical documentation is performed according to ISO requirements. Co‑ordinate with the local authorities such as DOE and DOSH for plant inspections and utilities machinery certification. Co‑ordinate with the Mechanical and E&I Departments, Utilities department for any work requests or interruptions in production.

1.3 Ensure that any plant activity or operation is carried out with compliance to the company HSE policy & local authority law & regulations.

1.4 Create & review daily & monthly production report & submit for management review.

1.5 Investigate & prepare plant trouble report for each issue experienced to identify the root cause & counter‑measure to prevent from recurrence.

1.6 Generate, review & revise Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) when necessary including plant start‑up, shutdown, emergency shutdown, etc.

1.7 Conduct continuous training program for existing or new staff regarding plant operation & carry out assessment to seek for improvement of their knowledge.

1.8 Prepare detail overall plant start‑up & shutdown sequence schedule & checklist for Field & DCS Operator to ensure a safe & smooth flow during plant operation start‑up & shutdown.

1.10 Carry out daily checking & recording of raw materials, chemicals, product & by‑product inventory & provide purchase plan for required items.

1.11 Prepare & review process parameter, alarm settings & interlock to ensure its compatibility with plant condition.

1.12 Create & review all required log sheet for field & DCS operator to ensure a thorough process parameters are monitored accordingly.

1.13 Carry out or involve in job risk analysis & chemical health risk assessment concerning equipment, process & chemicals being used towards staff safety, safety within the plant & environmental impact.

1.14 Involve in department daily meeting to inform or acknowledge any plant activity & planning.

1.15 In‑charge as competent person or assist competent person in performance monitoring of scrubber & waste water treatment system with inline practice of Guided Self‑Regulation (GSR).

1.16 Prepare & review plant facilities improvement plan.

1.17 Request necessary maintenance work involving pumps, vessel, instrument, etc.

1.18 Ensure ISO requirements are well implemented & acknowledged by Production members.

1.19 Approves risk assessments (HIRARC) and emergency response plans.

1.20 Ensures proper quality control of raw materials, equipment, and products (in cooperation with Lab and QA).

1.21 Reviews and approves technical maintenance and plant improvement plans.

1.22 Ensures full compliance and implementation of Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949).

1.23 Represents the department in external inspections and audits, liaising with DOE, DOSH, and other authorities.

1.24 Oversees the development, revision, and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

1.25 Directs reporting, troubleshooting, and corrective actions on plant issues to ensure sustainable performance.

1.26 Plan & propose required training or seminar to HR for Production Department to ensure all members are well‑rounded with proper skills & knowledge.

1.27 Prepare annual budget or capital expenditure for Production Department including operation cost reduction, training, miscellaneous equipment & staff welfare.

What we're looking for

Education : Degree in Chemical Engineering, Oils & Gas, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Skills

  • Good knowledge on Wasterwater Treatment Plant process and Local government regulatory requirement.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma concepts.
  • Understanding, Evaluating and Implementing Effective HIRARC at workplace.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
  • DCS knowledge (preferable Yokogawa).
  • Chemical production equipment & process.
