The Retail Visual Merchandiser (VM) is responsible for ensuring consistent, impactful, and brand-aligned visual presentation across all sports brands under the company’s portfolio — including categories such as badminton, pickleball, football, and other sporting goods .
This role blends creative design with commercial understanding to present products in a way that enhances brand image, improves customer experience, and drives sales. As the position oversees multiple brands and locations, the VM will coordinate remotely with on-ground store staff to monitor, guide, and improve display execution across all outlets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement visual merchandising guidelines, planograms, and display concepts for each sports brand and category.
Ensure consistent brand identity across all retail formats — standalone stores, shop-in-shops, and consignment counters.
Plan and brief store teams on display setup for new campaigns, product launches, and seasonal themes.
Support festive, clearance, and sports-season campaigns (e.g. World Cup, major tournaments) with engaging visual displays.
2. Display Audit & Standard Maintenance (Remote)
Conduct regular visual audits through coordination with on-ground staff — review store photos and videos to evaluate compliance with VM standards.
Identify display gaps or improvement areas and provide clear visual feedback or layout guidance.
Follow up with stores to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain an organized photo archive of store displays for documentation, tracking, and reporting.
3. Coordination with Internal Teams & Vendors
Collaborate with Retail Operations , Marketing , Merchandising , and Warehouse teams to align displays with campaigns, product focus, and inventory availability.
Coordinate with external vendors for the production and distribution of VM materials, fixtures, and props.
Ensure in-store communication materials (posters, shelf talkers, banners, etc.) are visually consistent with brand and campaign direction.
4. Merchandise Presentation & Sell-through Support
Analyze sales performance and adjust display focus to highlight best-sellers or underperforming items.
Plan product zoning and presentation to enhance product visibility and category flow (e.g. footwear wall, apparel display, racket zone).
Support new store openings, expansions, and renovations by providing display layout plans and VM setup guidance.
5. Training & VM Communication
Develop and share clear VM guidelines, setup references, and photo samples with store teams.
Conduct remote coaching and virtual training sessions for store staff to maintain brand-standard visual execution.
Provide continuous guidance and communication to ensure all stores deliver consistent customer experiences.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in retail visual merchandising , preferably in sports, fashion, or footwear industries.
Strong creative sense with good eye for layout, product balance, color coordination, and traffic flow.
Excellent coordination and communication skills — able to manage multiple brands and liaise remotely with store teams.
Organized and detail-oriented, with ability to interpret photos / videos into actionable feedback.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic skills in design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or SketchUp) are a plus.
Nice to Have
Experience handling sports retail brands (e.g. badminton, pickleball, football, fitness, or athletic apparel).
Understanding of retail marketing and campaign flows in a sports retail environment.
Passion for sports and active lifestyle products.
