Corporate Communications & Public Relations Manager
We are seeking a Corp Comm & PR Manager to shape and protect the public reputation of BIG Caring Group and its portfolio of brands. This is a PR-first role for a professional with a strong understanding of brand management. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing a robust public relations strategy to build a positive corporate image and secure high-impact media coverage. In addition, you will serve as a key steward for our brand's integrity, ensuring that all communications consistently reflect our brand positioning and narrative. The ideal candidate is an expert communicator with a proven track record in media relations and a keen eye for brand consistency.
Responsibilities
- Public Relations & Media Management : Develop and implement a comprehensive annual PR and communications plan that aligns with the group's business objectives.
- Lead and manage our appointed PR agency, providing strategic direction, clear briefs, and performance measurement to maximize positive media exposure.
- Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, influencers, and stakeholders in the business, healthcare, and consumer sectors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries and manage all external communications during both proactive campaigns and reactive situations.
- For smaller-scale projects where agency support is not required, take a hands-on approach to drafting press releases, media pitches, and other communications materials.
- Prepare and coach key company spokespeople for media interviews, press conferences, and public speaking engagements.
- Brand Stewardship & Governance : Act as a central guardian for the brand voice and identity across the BIG Caring Group portfolio, ensuring consistency in all external-facing communications.
- Maintain and evolve the company's brand guidelines and messaging frameworks.
- Advise and collaborate with internal marketing teams on brand alignment for their respective campaigns and initiatives, ensuring a cohesive narrative across all channels.
- Integrated Communications & Campaign Development : Partner with marketing managers (including Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, and Social Media) on their campaigns, serving as the key advisor on PR integration and brand narrative consistency.
- Develop and lead the core content strategy for PR-led initiatives, such as CSR programs and community health campaigns, providing a messaging framework for other teams to leverage.
- Reputation & Crisis Management : Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive crisis communications plan to protect the reputation of BIG Caring Group and its subsidiary brands.
- Serve as a core member of the crisis management team, providing strategic counsel and managing all external communications during sensitive situations.
- Monitor brand sentiment and media coverage to identify and mitigate potential reputational risks.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting : Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of PR activities, including share of voice, media sentiment, message pull-through, and advertising value equivalency (AVE).
- Provide regular, insightful reports to senior leadership on PR outcomes and brand health perception.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar field.Demonstrable experience in brand management or working closely on brand strategy is required.Experience within the retail, FMCG, or consumer health / pharmaceutical sector is preferred.Proven track record of managing a PR agency and developing successful communications campaigns.An established network of media contacts within Malaysia is highly advantageous.#J-18808-Ljbffr
