Researcher – Financial Services (fluent Mandarin and Korean)

Overview
The Financial Services Researcher is responsible for producing high‑quality enhanced due diligence reports for financial services clients in the Asia Pacific region. The role requires clear, analytical, and exceptionally well‑written reports to help clients meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage enhanced due diligence assignments for financial services clients.
- Conduct public records research and discreet interviews to gather intelligence on companies and individuals.
- Investigate specific topics and issues, drafting summaries and findings, especially when contentious matters arise.
- Produce high‑quality research reports for financial institution clients.
- Assist in the proposal process, including scoping research and client communication.
- Maintain direct communication with clients, primarily from compliance or internal control departments, to clarify scope and address questions.
- Support managers in developing and expanding the research resources and subcontractor pool within the region.
- liaise with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring delivery standards and quality.
- Collaborate across Control Risks teams to address client queries.
- Participate in regional research initiatives, providing support and feedback on VANTAGE work and engaging in discussions on service / product improvements.
Qualifications
Education to degree level (minimum of a bachelor’s or equivalent experience).Full fluency in written and spoken Mandarin, Korean and English.Experience writing, researching, and reviewing / editing research reports, with demonstrated excellence in Korean and English.Strong knowledge of open‑source research techniques.Good communication skills; able to think on one's feet and engage with individuals at different seniority levels.Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.Strong understanding of the socio‑political environment in APAC.Proven ability to meet project deadlines and perform well under pressure.Preferred
Experience executing and managing enhanced due diligence projects for financial institution clients.Experience engaging with international clients, preparing proposals, providing verbal updates, and answering follow‑up questions.Fluency in an additional language.Benefits
