Job descriptionAssist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects. Support the Quantity Surveyor in the measurement and valuation of work done on-site, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Maintain and update cost databases and pricing schedules, incorporating market trends and supplier information. Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms. Review and analyze contractor claims and variations, providing recommendations for resolution to the Quantity Surveyor. Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure effective cost management and project delivery. Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and preparing purchase orders. Maintain accurate project records and documentation, including cost reports, payment certificates, and variation orders. Support the Quantity Surveyor in conducting site visits to monitor progress, identify potential cost overruns, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Entry-level position; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin language skills are highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, contributing positively to collaborative projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and address challenges that may arise during the surveying process.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques and software relevant to quantity surveying practices.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, including blueprints, contracts, and specifications.
- Ability to perform quantity take-offs accurately and efficiently.
- Assist senior quantity surveyors in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control activities.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project records and documentation.
- Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in all surveying activities.
