Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Entry-level position; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin language skills are highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, contributing positively to collaborative projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and address challenges that may arise during the surveying process.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques and software relevant to quantity surveying practices.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, including blueprints, contracts, and specifications.
  • Ability to perform quantity take-offs accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist senior quantity surveyors in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control activities.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project records and documentation.
  • Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in all surveying activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor in the measurement and valuation of work done on-site, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and pricing schedules, incorporating market trends and supplier information.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms.
  • Review and analyze contractor claims and variations, providing recommendations for resolution to the Quantity Surveyor.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure effective cost management and project delivery.
  • Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and preparing purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation, including cost reports, payment certificates, and variation orders.
  • Support the Quantity Surveyor in conducting site visits to monitor progress, identify potential cost overruns, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
