Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the company\'s databases. This role includes planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting issues on behalf of users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Manage database availability and performance, including disaster recovery, backup and restore procedures.
  • Implement and enforce database security protocols to ensure data privacy and protection. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization. Implement best practices for database design and development to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular maintenance and validation checks. Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to database users. Collaborate with developers and IT staff to design and implement database solutions.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects involving databases. Work with project teams to determine database requirements and design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with hands-on experience in database management.
  • Proficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PolarDB, MongoDB, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of database structure, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Database Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified : Data Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, PolarDB).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, big data technologies, and business intelligence tools.
