Job Summary : The HR Manager will be responsible for leading the Human Resources function at M Social Penang, ensuring the implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures to attract, develop, and retain top talent. This role will play a crucial part in establishing a positive and inclusive work culture that aligns with the values and goals of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities :

Recruitment and Onboarding :

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the hotel.
  • Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and make hiring recommendations.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.

Employee Relations :

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Performance Management :

  • Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers in addressing performance issues and implementing performance improvement plans.
  • Compensation and Benefits :

  • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with company policies and market standards.
  • Conduct periodic salary reviews and benchmarking studies to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness
  • HR Administration :

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review and decision-making.
  • Manage HR-related documentation, including contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR management roles within the hospitality industry, preferably in pre-opening environments.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software applications.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
