Role Overview
The Regional Engineering Lead (APAC) will play a pivotal role in providing strategic and technical leadership across multiple markets, ensuring safe, sustainable, and efficient delivery of engineering projects across the regional supply chain.
This role oversees the regional capital investment plan, standardizes engineering practices, and ensures alignment with safety, quality, and financial frameworks. It also focuses on developing technical capabilities, implementing automation and digitalization strategies, and mentoring engineering teams to achieve operational excellence throughout the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Capital Planning
- Develop and manage the regional capital plan, ensuring projects align with business priorities and the Project Execution Process (PEP).
- Oversee capital approvals, budgets, and project performance across multiple markets.
- Monitor execution metrics to ensure timely delivery, compliance, and financial control.
Engineering Leadership & Compliance
Lead the regional engineering network, setting objectives, KPIs, and performance standards.Ensure compliance with engineering, safety (SHE), and process safety management (PSM) policies.Promote engineering best practices in sustainability, resource optimization, and process safety.Project Execution & Technical Oversight
Manage major capital and improvement projects across manufacturing and supply chain sites.Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and technical design reviews.Drive end-to-end project execution from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence.Asset Management & Automation
Strengthen site performance through asset care and preventive maintenance systems (CMMS).Develop and lead a regional automation and digitalization strategy to enhance efficiency and reliability.Champion continuous improvement initiatives through smart manufacturing technologies.Team Development & Collaboration
Mentor and support site-level engineers, reviewing key technical documents (MOCs, RCAs, SOPs).Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, and R&D teams to align engineering priorities.Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical mastery across diverse markets.Qualifications & Experience
Required :
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or related field).8+ years’ experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical, manufacturing, or related process industries.Deep understanding of industrial codes, standards, and engineering best practices.Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-site projects effectively and safely.Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.Willingness to travel regionally (up to 40%).Preferred :
Previous supervisory or managerial experience in engineering or maintenance.Familiarity with automation systems, process safety, or asset management frameworks.Multilingual communication ability is advantageous.Key Competencies
