Our client Abbott Penang (Formerly Known as St. Jude Medical) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team!

What you'll be doing?

Cloud expertise : Leverage your knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud to manage and optimize database performance in multi-cloud environments.

PostgreSQL mastery : Apply your skills in PostgreSQL provisioning, configuration, and management to ensure smooth database operations.

Performance optimization : Monitor and enhance database performance, identifying and resolving potential issues to maintain optimal reliability.

Security and compliance : Safeguard database security by monitoring access, preventing unauthorized entry, and adhering to compliance procedures.

Disaster recovery : Maintain backups and conduct disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.

Collaboration : Work closely with Product and Site Reliability Engineers, as well as cross‑functional teams, to drive continuous improvement.

Automation development : Create innovative automation technologies for efficient data loading and refresh activities.

Migration expertise : Lead database migrations from legacy platforms to multi‑cloud PostgreSQL environments.

Who are they looking for?

Educational background : Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields.

PostgreSQL experience : 3–5 years of experience working with PostgreSQL database technology, particularly in multi‑cloud environments.

Cloud proficiency : Demonstrated ability to manage PostgreSQL databases in Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud environments.

Problem‑solving skills : Strong analytical and communication abilities, with a systematic approach to tackling challenges.

Versatility : Capability to handle multiple assignments and thrive in a diverse, cross‑functional team environment.

Performance optimization : Experience in enhancing database performance, managing issues, and implementing backup strategies.

Security awareness : Understanding of access management and database security best practices.

Cloud certifications : While not required, Multi‑Cloud (Azure / AWS / GCP) certifications are highly valued.
