  • Basic Salary : Between RM6,210.00 and RM14,370.00 (based on experience)

Scope

The officer shall be an academic staff member of the Kulliyyah / Centre / Department, responsible for teaching, examining, research, and other duties required of IIUM academic staff. The officer will also undertake moral and religious obligations towards colleagues and students, attend meetings of IIUM authorities, boards, and committees, participate in the general life of the IIUM community, and guide students in character and moral conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
  • Develop curricula and course material for multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with academics to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge.
  • Set and grade assignments, tests, and exams.
  • Conduct research and publish papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Engage in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
  • Provide support to students and colleagues.
  • Stay current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
  • Function as a clinical specialist at University Hospital

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) IIUM or
  • Master of Anaesthesiology (UM) or
  • Doctor of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care (UKM) or
  • Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) UPM or
  • Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology & Critical Care) USM or
  • Master of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care (UiTM)

    • Minimum Competencies

  • Ability to inspire students with passion.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to work long hours.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written & verbal communication skills.
  • Able to function as a general specialist.

    • Language Qualifications

  • Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level, or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
  • IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates lacking these qualifications must sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
  • Support for MAQASID SHARIAH : IIUM is a smoke‑free campus.
