Overview

Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

As an Intermediate AWS Network Engineer, you will support 24×7 network operations, monitoring, and automation tasks, ensuring infrastructure stability and rapid incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Support & Monitoring : Monitor CloudWatch alerts (EC2 health, VPC anomalies), triage issues, and escalate complex cases.
  • Maintain Transit Gateway routing tables, audit cross-region connections, and generate health reports.
  • Track third party dedicated line performance (latency / packet loss) and submit trend analyses.

Automation & Tooling

  • Script Python / Bash utilities for log archiving (VPC Flow Logs to S3) and resource tagging.
  • Use AWS SSM to automate patching, backups, and security group audits.

    • Security & Compliance

  • Analyse VPC Flow Logs to block suspicious IPs (e.g., port scanning) and update NACL rules.
  • Audit security groups, remove obsolete rules, and maintain compliance checklists.
  • Support SOC investigations with network-layer forensics (e.g., traffic log extraction).

    • Skills & Qualifications

    Experience :

  • 3+ years in cloud networking, with 1+ year focused on AWS.
  • Understanding of financial network architectures (e.g., DMZ / core zone isolation).

    • Technical Expertise :

  • Hands-on experience with EC2 / VPC / Route 53 and basic CloudFormation templating.
  • Linux CLI tools (tcpdump, Netstat) for network diagnostics.
  • Basic scripting (Python / Bash) for log / resource management.

    • Certifications :

  • AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (required).
  • CCNP (preferred).
