Role

We’re hiring a technically strong Documentation Engineer to create clear, accurate technical materials for our payment hardware and solutions (POS, SoftPOS, Android terminals, kiosks, SDKs / APIs). You’ll bridge engineering, product, and customer teams to produce product specs, integration guides, deployment playbooks and troubleshooting content that shortens integration time and reduces support load.

Why this role matters

Your documentation will be the primary tool partners and integrators use to go live quickly and securely — reducing time-to-market and support escalations.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain user-facing and internal technical docs : product specs, integration guides, SDK / API docs, quick-starts, troubleshooting flowcharts.
  • Translate engineering designs, diagrams and release notes into clear, structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers and solution architects to capture requirements and verify technical accuracy.
  • Maintain version control, templates, and documentation standards (taxonomy, naming, authoring guidelines).
  • Support onboarding and enablement : create training decks, run knowledge transfers, and contribute to the knowledge base.
  • Improve documentation processes : automate builds, reuse content, and integrate docs with CI / CD where applicable.
  • Assist with regulatory / certification paperwork (PCI / EMV / EMVCo) where required.

Must have

  • 3–6 years technical writing or engineering experience in payments, fintech, or hardware / software integrations.
  • Practical knowledge of POS / terminal ecosystems (POS, SoftPOS, EMV, QR payments) and ability to interpret device specs and block diagrams.
  • Strong technical writing skills in English and proven ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience with at least one documentation tool : Confluence, Markdown, DITA, or similar.
  • Comfortable reading engineering diagrams and creating step-by-step integration guides.
  • Nice to have

  • Experience with PCI DSS / EMVCo certification documentation.
  • Familiarity with Android system integration and payment app deployment.
  • Experience with Git-based docs pipelines and documentation automation.
  • Hands-on exposure to SDK / API docs using OpenAPI / Swagger or similar.
