To lead and manage technical and design-related project works during operational phase, including system upgrade, modification, and performance improvement activities. The role ensures all design and execution works are delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory standards.
Project Planning and Execution
- Assist the Project Manager in developing the overall project execution plan, schedules, and milestones
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Ensure engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities are aligned with project objectives and timelines
Engineering Coordination
Oversee and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities to ensure deliverables are on time and meet project requirementsReview and approve engineering documents, designs, and drawings for compliance with project specifications, codes, and standardsResolve technical issues, provide guidance, and interface with design teams and consultantsProcurement and Vendor Management
Collaborate with procurement teams to specify material and equipment requirementsReview vendor / subcontractor proposals and technical documentation for compliance with project needsEnsure timely delivery of equipment and materials as per project timelinesConstruction Oversight
Monitor and coordinate construction activities to ensure they adhere to SHE plan, project plans, drawings, and specificationsAddress site technical queries, resolve issues, and provide necessary approvals to maintain progressConduct site visits and inspections to ensure work quality, compliance, and safetyBudget and Cost Control
Assist in preparing and monitoring the project budget and controlling costsIdentify potential cost overruns, changes, or additional works, and ensure timely approval through change management processesProvide regular updates and reports on cost performance to stakeholdersStakeholder Communication
Act as the primary liaison between the client, TNB, project teams, vendors, and subcontractorsAttend project meetings, present updates, and resolve conflicts among stakeholdersEnsure timely communication and reporting to all relevant parties on project status and key issuesRisk Management
Identify and assess project risks during all phases and develop mitigation plansMonitor risks throughout the project and ensure prompt action to minimize impactsQuality Assurance and Safety
Ensure all engineering and construction activities comply with QA / QC procedures and safety standardsAddress non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectivelyPromote a culture of safety and quality across the project team and contractorsCommissioning and Handover
Prepare, review all the testing procedure and program as per specificationsOversee the commissioning phase, ensuring all systems are tested and operational as per specificationsPrepare and review final documentation for project handover, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and certificatesSupport client training and operational readiness as requiredRequirements
Minimum of 2 years of electrical engineering or construction work background, with construction management related to High Voltage (HV) power system being added advantageBachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering or equivalent from a recognized institutionPossess valid CIDB Green CardAble to be relocated to outstation during project executionKnowledge of solar PV system design, installation, maintenance, performance monitoring, and electrical protection systemsFamiliarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements is desirableProficient in solar PV system design, electrical protection coordination, and system integrationStrong understanding of low voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) system integration and commissioningSkilled in using design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or equivalentCompetence in Microsoft Office (e.g. Project, Power Point, Excel, Words & etc.)Strong understanding of electrical drawings such as Single-Line-Diagram, PV Layout, etcAbility to perform technical due diligence, design validation, and retrofit feasibility studiesExperienced in managing contractors, procurement processes, and site supervisionStrong capability in planning and coordination with good resource management skillsTimely proactive reporting to superiorCapable of preparing project budgets, cost estimations, and variation assessmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detailDemonstrates leadership, accountability, and initiative in resolving technical issuesEffective communicator with strong coordination and interpersonal skillsAdaptable to field and office environments; able to manage multiple projects concurrentlyUpholds safety, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of work#J-18808-Ljbffr
