Overview

Ngan Yin Food Industries Sdn Bhd – Ipoh, Perak

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our market presence in the food trading sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food commodities and trading practices, excellent market research and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in developing B2B client relationships and distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion : Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities in domestic and international markets, especially in IKA, retail, wholesale, and institutional sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and effective communication and service delivery.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution : Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand customer base. Forecast sales performance and pipeline activity.
  • Product Knowledge : Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s food products, pricing, logistics, and sourcing capabilities to effectively position them in the market.
  • Market Research : Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive activities. Provide insights to senior management for strategic planning.
  • Trade Shows & Networking : Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote products and build relationships with industry stakeholders.
  • Collaboration : Work cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting : Prepare regular reports on business development activities, revenue growth, client feedback, and market trends.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or trading in the food or FMCG industry .
  • Strong network of contacts in the food industry, including distributors, retailers, and IKA.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English and Malay language.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Familiarity with trade regulations, import / export documentation, and logistics is a plus.
