Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturer of electrical household appliances, is seeking a Senior Manager, Production Engineering to be based at the manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia.

This pivotal leadership role supports the Factory Manager in driving production engineering excellence. You will lead the team to enhance product quality, improve process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and uphold Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that impact multiple product categories and strengthen manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership : Assist the Factory Manager in developing and executing strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and reduce costs.
  • Lead production engineering projects, including process enhancements, equipment upgrades, and the implementation of new technology.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and Six Sigma tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Quality and Compliance : Implement robust quality management systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed standards.
  • EHS : Maintain rigorous environmental, health, and safety compliance, promoting a safe and healthy working environment across the plant.
  • Audits and Collaboration : Conduct regular audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality and safety issues proactively.
  • Team and Stakeholder Management : Lead, mentor, and motivate the production engineering team; work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to achieve targets.
  • Cross-functional Communication : Facilitate alignment with regional and international stakeholders, including teams in China and Hong Kong.
  • Cost and Efficiency : Identify opportunities for operational cost reduction through process optimization and waste elimination; monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably with electrical household appliances.
  • Deep knowledge of production engineering principles, assembly line optimization, and warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills; able to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in Chinese (spoken and written) is a strong advantage due to collaboration with teams in China and Hong Kong.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
