Overview

Lead, supervise and guide the purchasing team in carrying out daily procurement activities. Develop, implement, and review purchasing strategies to ensure cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery. Research, evaluate and approve suppliers, establishing long-term relationships to support business growth. Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, reliability, and services. Oversee the full spectrum of purchasing process including supplier selection, purchase orders, material planning and inventory control. Monitor supplier performance and address issues relating to quality, delivery, or compliance. Surveillance for maintain and update supplier database, purchasing records, contracts, and all related documentation. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies and procedures. Prepare regular purchasing reports and analysis for management review. Manage and oversee warehouse operations to ensure accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and timely support for production requirements. Drive regular cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, and process optimization while maintaining quality and service levels. Perform any other duties as assigned by the management.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial / supervisory role.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (ability to converse in Mandarin will be an added advantage).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team and work across departments effectively.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry more than 5 years.
