Job description

We are seeking a Senior Associate / Associate to join our Investment team, where you will evaluate and execute investment opportunities by conducting due diligence and project research, modelling the forecasted financial performance of prospective investments and their correlation to key inputs including, but not limited to, economic trends, financing terms, regulations, development and operating assumptions, and other value drivers.

You will be involved in due diligence, building and reviewing in-depth proprietary financial models, modelling the arrangement of debt financing, and supporting negotiation of commercial and legal contracts. It is a continuous involvement with Vena Energy's projects during and following the investment, including monitoring performance of key drivers of value, performing regular internal valuations, assisting with the execution of ongoing financing transactions, and monitoring investment performance in general.

Key Responsibilities

The portfolio covers on all aspects of new platform investments, add-on investments, monetization and related financings, including but not limited to the following :

  • Partake in the processing of new investment opportunities, ranging from market assessment to competitive positioning, to initial underwriting and deal structuring;
  • Drive diligence efforts on pursued deals, including business diligence, risk underwriting, and managing external advisors;
  • Build robust flexible financial models to support deal underwriting and deal structuring efforts;
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support transaction negotiations;
  • Extend hands-on support to projects across the jurisdictions in Vena Energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and strong GPA. Major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Financial Management is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a business analyst, financial analyst or project team member in finance, economics, investment or actuarial fields.
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements and cashflows.
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modelling and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task and focus on delivering results.
  • Highly entrepreneurial with a conscientious detail-oriented nature.
