Executive, Underwriter (Penang)

Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and customer-focused Underwriter to join our team. As an Underwriter at Hong Leong Assurance Berhad, you will ensure underwriting requests are processed timely and comply with regulatory and corporate requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that underwriting requests are processed prudently and in accordance to all regulatory and corporate requirements, including effective solicitation, selection, pricing and retention of desirable business.
• Provide appropriate advice and guidance to junior in underwriting of risks and improving work output.
• Support the Manager in process improvement by continuously review processes, identify and resolve service gaps through constructive feedback and implement improvements where appropriate.
• Attend to enquiries from inter-departmental staff, Northern Region branches and agency force.
• Assist in conducting trainings to Agency Forces to minimize errors on proposal forms.
• Assist in handling delivery / correspondence of policy contracts.
• Highlight misconduct or non-compliance issue detected while performing underwriting to superiors and ROM.
• Attend New Business phone enquiry and despatching of documents.
• Undertakes other projects / assignments as and when required by the Management.
