Overview

Deputy Chief Investment Officer role at Zurich Insurance. Purpose : Contribute the implementation of the Group’s investment strategy in the business units to deliver sustainable risk-adjusted returns aligned with the business’s risk appetite and income targets.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Job Functions : Investment Technical Accountabilities

Lead the implementation of the Group’s investment strategy in the business units, including ALM, changes in the strategic and tactical asset allocation, in line with local regulatory, capital, liquidity, and risk requirements.
Develop and manage investment strategies of portfolios and deliver the expected economic and accounting investment performance, leveraging Investment Management’s capabilities.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality services by internal and external managers of local investment portfolios and strategies to achieve superior investment performance within constraints of asset allocation, risk capacity, and local regulations.
Monitor and deliver investment income and expense plans and forecasts for invested assets of local legal entities.
Monitor and deliver investment cash and liquidity planning for local entities to ensure adequate liquidity in collaboration with stakeholders.
Systematically explore and lead the exploitation of risk premia to increase returns in collaboration with stakeholders.

Operations & Governance

Define and oversee investment strategies and guidelines of portfolios and products ensuring compliance with applicable risk, regulatory, and governance processes.

Contribute to the definition of risk (including operational risk) frameworks and processes applicable to the investment function in collaboration with appropriate functions.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulatory and assurance requirements in collaboration with relevant functions.

Lead and manage the production of investment-related reports for stakeholders.

Lead the implementation process for investment portfolios and strategies in collaboration with appropriate functions and stakeholders.

Develop, implement, and manage investment business processes to achieve business objectives and continuously improve team delivery.

Lead stakeholder management and provide effective leadership; represent the investment function at business committees and governance bodies, including external stakeholders, to ensure understanding of investment strategies and alignment with business strategy.

Enable flow of information across co-workers and functions; facilitate collaboration and learning across teams; explain investment concepts to stakeholders; provide accurate and timely investment information and insights.

Develop and propose initiatives related to local implementation of the Group's investment strategy with regional / local impact and define methods to support their implementation.

Lead the implementation of change initiatives.
