Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Gallery Director to oversee the daily operations and strategic management of our gallery space. This role requires strong leadership, operational skills, and hands-on experience in event planning and BTL (Below-the-Line) marketing. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth coordination of events, rentals, staff, and facilities, while working closely with our in-house café and retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Rental Management : Plan, manage, and execute gallery events, private rentals, and special exhibitions. Preference given to candidates with BTL marketing experience.
Staff Scheduling & Supervision : Develop and manage shift schedules for gallery staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation during business hours and events.
Coordinate and maintain good working relationships with the in-house café team to ensure smooth operational flow and guest experience.
Oversee the sales and inventory management of gallery merchandise and goods, ensuring optimal product presentation and stock levels.
Kiosk & Ticketing Operations : Manage daily operations of ticket sales, kiosk systems, and payment handling, ensuring accuracy and a seamless visitor experience.
Equipment Oversight : Supervise the proper use, maintenance, and setup of gallery equipment including AV systems, lighting, and event-related tools.
Reporting : Prepare regular operational and financial reports and provide timely updates to the Country Head on gallery performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Additional Responsibility - Facilities Management

Oversee maintenance and repair of all facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).

Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance.

Manage vendor relationships and coordinate service contracts.

Lead facility-related projects including renovations, upgrades, and space planning.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Manage facility budgets, track expenses, and report to senior management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or related field

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gallery / event space management or BTL marketing operations

Strong leadership and team management skills, especially in shift-based environments

Experience with event planning, retail operations, and customer service

Knowledge of POS systems, ticketing software, and payment handling

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Strong communication skills in English; other language proficiency is a plus

Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or event nights if required.

Preferred Attributes

Experience in managing high-traffic retail or entertainment venues.

Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy-efficient facility operations.

Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
