The scope of work comprises among others the site supervision with a strong team of management staff, various discipline engineers, quality control staff and local inspectors.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to Site manager and closely work with Power Island lead design engineer and project engineer and review and approval of Inspection and Test Plans
- Review and approval of method of statements and of material approval request from EPC contractors.
- Review and approval of erection and commissioning procedures related to Power Island and auxiliaries .
- Perform walk-downs during installation to ensure that the contractors are working properly.
- Resolve the site technical issues about Power Island equipments and signs off on all changes implemented.
- Responsible for managing the NCR and Approval and supervision of defined test procedures, start-up sequences, reliability test runs and performance tests.
- Scheduling and monitoring of functional and operational / reliability and performance tests of various equipment for start-up
- Verification of the compliance of test results with the design and reliability requirements.
- Preparation of inspection reports, certificates, progress reports and site correspondence.
- Coordinate technical evaluation, vendor’s factory-acceptance test, review of Data Records and on field testing after delivery of equipment.
- Management of technical support and equipment warranty with equipment vendors
- Ensuring the best engineering practices, international safety standards and environmental legislation to create commercial awareness.
- Participate in site safety walkdowns to identify both good and poor safety practices, and document observations in safety reports.
- Coordinate inter-disciplinary engineering deliverables such as plans, manuals, reports, procedures, calculations, specifications, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, drawings, records and other relevant documents from Power Island, electrical and instrumentation, tank & vessel, piping, civil & structural engineering
- Preparation of inspection reports, certificates, progress reports and site correspondence and Coordination with site staff
- Take the initiative to lead the resolution of field change requests and modifications raised by the EPC contractor.
- Actively participate in daily and weekly commissioning meetings, supporting the OE commissioning manager by leading discussions and addressing issues related to the power island.
- Prepare a "lessons learned" report prior to project demobilization and engage with the project manager and project engineer to discuss findings.
- Contribute insights for the OE project closure report concerning the power island.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 relevant years of experience related to EPC - Thermal Power Plants, Power Generation Sector in COMBINED CYCLE GAS TURBINE.As a Lead / Senior engineering in EPC -Thermal Power Plants and / or construction and project management experience in power plant projects, at least 3 years in erection and Commissioning of combined cycle power plants.A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent), with a Master’s degree would be an added advantagePreferably licensed by the official regulating body of the engineering profession, or a member of a professional associationExcellent communication skills and a good team playerOf utmost importance for all positions besides technical skills are tact and cultural empathy in order to form a beneficial work climate with the Client and Site Staff.About Jacobs
