Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Lead the management of litigation, arbitration, and claims, working closely with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle legal disputes arising from contract breaches, variations, terminations, and operational matters.
  • Advise business units on contentious issues to minimize legal and commercial risk.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (e.g., NDAs, contracts, MOUs).
  • Provide legal support throughout the contract lifecycle; from tender stage to post-award dispute resolution.
  • Support governance processes including management paper reviews, legal reports, and senior-level submissions.
  • Partner with internal teams as a legal advisor in negotiations and strategic discussions.
  • Improve legal processes by developing templates, checklists, and contract review tools.
  • Collaborate with legal colleagues to provide practical legal advice aligned with company objectives.
  • Undertake any other legal assignments as directed by the Head of Legal, including cross-border matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with admission to a common law jurisdiction preferred.
  • 7–10 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally with exposure to both litigation / dispute resolution and commercial matters.
  • Prior in-house or contract review experience is an added advantage; willingness to handle contract-related tasks is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to provide effective, high-quality legal advice to business leaders.
  • Experience in negotiating complex, high-value contracts and agreements.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, result-driven, and able to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
