Facilities Technician

Position : Facilities Technician

Status : 12 months' probation Under PERSOL and will be absorbed under company if fit for the role.

Location : Pasir Gudang, Johor

Working Days : Monday - Friday

Working Hours : 7am / pm - 7pm / am (2 hour break)

Salary : RM 4000 – RM 5500

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance management of the entire plant and building facilities, including Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, CDA, FLSS, DP, and other systems.

2. Ensure the smooth operation of all equipment by managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with the schedule (CMMS) and coordinating with service and repair contractors.

3. Conduct regular inspections and performance monitoring of machinery and systems to ensure they are operating within desired parameters.

4. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues (e.g., power outages, leaks, equipment failures) to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.

5. Adjust equipment settings and processes as needed to optimize performance and meet operational requirements.

6. Record and analyse operational data, such as pressure, temperature, flow rates, and production output, for reporting and continuous improvement.

7. Troubleshoot issues, identify required repairs or improvements, and implement effective solutions to maintain operational reliability.

8. Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, environmental, and fire regulations, maintaining a hazard-free workplace.

9. Manage inventory of maintenance tools, spare parts, and consumables, coordinate with vendors for major repairs and equipment procurement.

10. Provide support to the Supervisor and Maintenance Engineer, and coordinate with external consultants or contractors when required.

11. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Engineer, or Manager.

Requirement

• Preferably holds an Electrical Chargeman Certification (AO – A4).
• Technical certifications in HVAC, PLC programming, Electrical Systems, or Mechanical Maintenance will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with CDA systems and clean room environments.
• Strong electrical knowledge, including the ability to read wiring diagrams, troubleshoot circuits, and basic understanding of PLC systems.
• Solid mechanical skills, including repairing motors, pumps, conveyors, bearings, and other moving parts.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems for facilities maintenance.
• Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting, utilizing diagnostic tools and root cause analysis techniques.
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance (PM), including scheduled inspections and servicing
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including operation and repair.
• Basic skills in welding and fabrication for metalwork repairs.
• Computer literacy, particularly in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work orders.
