Position
Learning Support Assistant
Responsibilities
- Provide support to subject teachers where applicable to ensure identified students are catered for within lessons, e.g., modifying resources to improve accessibility and providing prompts / reminders for completion of work.
- Establish a supportive, caring, and secure relationship with identified student(s), promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole-school ethos.
- Provide in-class one-to-one support for identified learners.
- Deliver one-to-one or small-group interventions for identified students under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of students’ specific academic, physical and emotional / behavioural / medical needs and respond effectively.
- Develop learning activity programmes and adapt appropriate materials.
- Support and motivate identified student(s), clarify instructions, encourage independent learning and behaviour, and help learners achieve targets and outcomes.
- Assist with marking and correction of work.
- Maintain detailed records of all support, interventions and modifications for identified students to enable review and analysis of effectiveness.
- Keep records of student progress to inform review meetings.
- Attend meetings and reviews; participate in school events, trips and activities.
- Uphold school discipline and regulations and promote equal opportunities in practice.
- Participate in duties (lunch / break / before and after school).
- Ensure regular and effective communication among students, staff, parents and external agencies.
- Support the aims, values, mission and ethos of the school and take a team approach to all aspects of school life.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings and INSET days; identify areas for personal development.
- Take appropriate responsibility for safeguarding and children’s welfare; maintain confidentiality as required.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education / Psychology or a related field.Strong English language proficiency.At least 3 years of working experience at international school level.Preference for candidates proficient in Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking parents / clients.Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and be IT literate.How to Apply
