Senior Group Enterprise Architect – Customer Engagement

The Maybank Singapore & International Countries Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the target state architecture for Singapore and other smaller international markets is aligned with Group Enterprise Architecture principles, strategic transformation programs, and regulatory requirements.
With a strong focus on bridging Group-level strategy and in-country delivery, this role guides modernization efforts, reduces technology risk, and ensures compliance across diverse regulatory environments. The Enterprise Architect partners closely with country CIOs and senior technology leaders to align initiatives with Group-wide standards while addressing local business and regulatory needs.
As key focus areas, the role will define and steward the next-generation target state architecture for Maybank Singapore and international entities, driving consistency, resilience, and interoperability across markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the target state architecture for Maybank Singapore, ensuring compliance with Group EA principles, standards, and frameworks.
- Partner with the Singapore Country CIO to align business strategy and technology investments.
- Provide functional oversight of the in-country architects, ensuring capability uplift and delivery governance.
- Represent Singapore’s needs in Group Architecture Review Boards and transformation governance forums.
- Drive rationalisation, modernization, and resilience of Singapore’s application portfolio.
Oversight of Smaller International Countries
Provide EA oversight across Maybank’s smaller international locations (Brunei, Philippines, Cambodia, etc.).Ensure these operations adopt Group EA standards, guardrails, and regulatory alignment.Support capability uplift in smaller markets by embedding best practices and ensuring consistent reporting into Group EA.Act as a Group EA point of escalation for country CIOs and IT leadership in smaller markets.Strategic Business & Technology Architecture
Develop Target Operating Models for key domains in Singapore and international markets (e.g. Retail, Wealth, Corporate, Risk, Compliance, Payments).Integrate Singapore and international roadmaps into Group-wide programs.Maintain principles, capability heat maps, and architectural guardrails for transformation delivery.Governance and Standards Compliance
Ensure compliance with MAS TRM in Singapore and local regulators in smaller international countries.Align all countries with BNM RMiT, Group policies, and ASEAN-wide standards.Govern adherence to EA standards, patterns, and non-functional requirements across Singapore and international initiatives.Innovation and Market Trends
Monitor Singapore market trends in digital banking, payments, and wealth management.Track innovation in smaller ASEAN markets and recommend scalable adoption across the Group.Influence Group-wide innovation in areas such as Open Finance, digital onboarding, and AI-enabled compliance.KPI / Success Measures
Develop and maintain the Singapore & International countries target state architecture, acting as the trusted Enterprise Architect for business and technology leaders to align all digital initiatives with Group strategy.% of Singapore and international initiatives aligned to Group target state.% of Architecture Review Board submissions approved without high-risk exceptions.% Reduction of legacy system footprint across Singapore and smaller countries.Successful compliance with MAS TRM and international regulatory architecture reviews.Qualifications and Experience
15+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, with at least 5 years in country or regional architecture oversight as a Lead / Chief Architect.Strong knowledge of Singapore’s banking regulatory environment, particularly MAS TRM.Experience working with multiple ASEAN regulators and overseeing multi-country operations.Proven experience partnering with Country CIOs, regulators, and senior stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related discipline; Master’s degree is a strength.Demonstrated track record in target state architecture definition, application modernization, and regulatory alignment.Desired Skills and Competencies
Leadership presence and credibility to influence Group leadership, Country CIOs, Business & Technology executives.Strong knowledge of digital banking, payments, and wealth management trends in Singapore and ASEAN.Proficiency in TOGAF, BIAN; knowledge of regional regulatory standards.Strong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor governance skills.Ability to balance Group-wide consistency with local country-specific requirements.Seniority level : Mid-Senior level
