Job Title : Commercial FP&A Manager

Location : Malaysia

Industry : Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)

Department : Finance – Commercial Finance & FP&A

Reports to : Finance Director

Team Leadership : Cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Category teams

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-performing Commercial FP&A Manager to join a leading FMCG multinational in Malaysia. This role plays a critical part in partnering with the Sales and Marketing teams to provide financial insights, category performance analysis, and strategic decision support across multiple product categories. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

Drive the monthly rolling forecast, annual budget, and strategic planning processes for multiple categories.
Consolidate and review financial projections by working closely with category, sales, and marketing leads.
Prepare and present monthly performance dashboards, highlighting risks, opportunities, and key variances against plan.

Business Partnering

Act as a finance business partner to category and commercial leaders by providing financial insight and challenge on promotions, pricing strategies, and customer investments.

Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) and category reviews, providing finance inputs to support demand planning and commercial decisions.

Partner with trade marketing and customer teams to evaluate ROI of key campaigns, promotional activities, and channel performance.

Commercial Analysis

Perform gross margin and contribution analysis by category, channel, and customer.

Conduct post-implementation reviews for commercial initiatives (e.g. new launches, pricing changes).

Analyze consumer and market data to support category growth strategies and competitive benchmarking.

Reporting & Decision Support

Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and business performance reviews.

Support the preparation of management presentations for local leadership and regional headquarters.

Continuously improve reporting tools, models, and processes to enhance efficiency and insight generation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is preferred.

Minimum 6–8 years of experience in commercial finance or FP&A roles within FMCG or consumer-facing industries.

Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (Power BI, TM1, Tableau).

Proven ability to influence non-finance stakeholders and lead cross-functional discussions.

Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrix environment.

Preferred Attributes

Prior experience supporting multiple product categories and commercial teams.

Comfortable working in a regional or global MNC setup with cross-border stakeholders.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
