Indirect Category Procurement Manager (12-months contract)

Our client, a leading global multi-national conglomerate, is seeking a pioneering Global Indirect Procurement Manager to join their global headquarters team. This is a newly created 1-year contract role based in Malaysia, offering a unique "greenfield" opportunity.

This is not a standard category management position. We are looking for a strategic builder who can develop new indirect categories from scratch . You will be the first procurement team member in Malaysia, empowered to create new processes, define SOPs, and navigate ambiguity to build a successful function.

What You Will Be Doing :

• Pioneer & Build : Act as the key driver for new indirect categories, developing and executing strategic sourcing plans from the ground up.
• Process Creation : Design, implement, and refine new procurement processes and SOPs where none currently exist.
• Global Sourcing : Lead the end-to-end sourcing cycle (RFx, spend analysis, negotiation, contract execution) for global consolidation opportunities.
• Stakeholder & User Management : Manage relationships with internal stakeholders across diverse global business units, with a unique focus on improving the internal "user experience" of the procurement process.
• Data & Reporting : Manage cross-functional data, set up KPIs, and prepare high-level progress reports for global management.
• Supplier Management : Independently manage the supplier onboarding and awarding process.
