Role Summary :

With the advances in AI tools in programming, we see a great opportunity to redesign and greatly improve the existing solutions we are running for our current clients, while allowing us to accelerate the development of new solutions.

We are looking for a

Principal / Lead Engineer

to lay the foundations for a new development team in the Johor Innovation Office.

Job Details :

Review existing systems we run and explore potential improvements or migrations where needed

Work closely with the business team to explore development of new concepts and solutions.

Establish a culture of leveraging AI tools in our solution development, deployment and maintenance, incorporating AI where possible to improve our efficiency and code quality

Maintain a strong culture of clean, explainable code, and maintaining best practises in programming.

Requirements

• The candidate should have a very strong background in Laravel, PHP, backend development, Python, Flask, Django
• Solution architecture & system design, database optimisation
• Cloud-based systems and services (we mainly use DigitalOcean and AWS)
• Strong understanding of server maangement, DevOps, CI / CD API development, MQTT / Websockets
• Experience in Woocommerce is a plus
• Our systems interact with hardware devices running Android apps or using MQTT, a strong interest and experience in IoT projects is highly recommended
• Clean code and a strong ability to review and debug AI code
• Most importantly, a strong hunger and excitement and love for software engineering and problem solving, and an interest in building up a new team to innovate and explore new solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications Experience :

At least 6 years Software Development background with a strong focus on Backend systems

Education :

Computer Science / Engineer degree

Soft Skills :

Leadership, Presentation skills, fluent English

Pay range from 9000RM -12000RM
