Job description

We are seeking a creative, fashion designer to join our team. In this position, you will be part of the team creating eye-catching and cutting-edge designs. You will design and present new fashion apparel that is on-trend and meeting customer’s ever evolving demands while meeting with key suppliers, building relationships with manufacturers, and leading the design team to create a finished product.

The incumbent is required to :

Draw, sketch, and plan designs for fashion apparel
Research fashion trends and similar designs
Create tests / prototypes of design pieces
Collaborate with fabric manufacturers for materials
Work with other designers and creators to build designs
Create matching or aligned pieces for a collection
Market and sell fashion designs to retailers / customers
Create a plan to manufacture designs with a team or partnership
Assist a design team with communicating to vendors on design, production, and other issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES :

Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, merchandising, art, or related field

Minimum 5 years experience in Fashion Industry

In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the modest fashion industry

Accurate and precise attention to detail

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Self-motivated and self-directed

Computer literacy : It's important to be competent in the use of software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and Microsoft Office.

Communication skills : Must be great communicators

Desire : You must be able to learn and collaborate with other members of the design team.

Flexibility : It's important to have the willingness to be flexible with regard to job responsibilities

Ability to travel : Successful candidates have the desire and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
