JOB SUMMARY :

Assists Finance Manager in providing strong and impactful oversight of and support to the Group’s oil and gas assets in Malaysia and Vietnam (and inactive Australian entities) (“subsidiaries / BUs”). Managing the financial reporting from the subsidiaries / BUs. Responsible for financial management for inactive entities in Australia. Review / perform analysis of the Group’s oil and gas assets in Malaysia and Vietnam (and inactive Australia entities) Coordinating information flow between Group Finance and subsidiaries / BUs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform the financial month end closing and prepare monthly financial statements for inactive entities in Australia. Review / prepare monthly / quarterly / annual analysis of financial results – clear articulation and comparisons of financial results. Generate recurring (monthly and quarterly) standardised reports on key areas related to the subsidiaries / BUs. Identify possible red flags and areas of concern in the subsidiaries / BUs (e.g., impairment of carrying value, erosion of value, overspending, production volumes, etc.). Review annual budget submission, periodic forecasting, budget monitoring, tax compliance, tax planning, and adherence to all relevant accounting policies. Assists in cash flow planning of the subsidiaries / BUs, taking into consideration requirements of other BUs of the Group. Work closely with subsidiaries / BU’s Finance department and reporting team, to enhance quality and timeliness of deliverables, includes information included in quarterly announcements to Bursa Malaysia. Promote consistency and alignment of processes / format across subsidiaries / BUs and support process improvement in relevant finance-related areas. Assist in the evaluation of corporate exercises, including acquisition of assets and fund-raising activities, where required. Other ad-hoc duties prescribed by the CFO and immediate supervisor to assist in achieving the Finance department’s objectives.

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for his / her own health and safety and that of other persons affected by his / her activities; Supporting the implementation of the HPB HSE Objectives and Action Improvement plans; Support & participate in HSE Audits; Report hazards, incidents and near misses in his / her place of work; Identify areas for continuous improvement; Participate as requested in Office Safety Meetings & workplace inspections; and Actively involved in office Emergency Response drills.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a professional qualification from an internationally accepted accounting body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, MICPA, CPA etc.) or Degree in Finance / Accounting At least 5 years’ relevant working experience Strong understanding and relevant experience of the oil & gas upstream (E&P) industry is a key advantage Understanding of requirements of public listed environment in Malaysia Able to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines Detail oriented and able to be hands on in preparation of deliverables Experience in auditing and corporate finance Fluent in English (both verbal and written) A self-starter, proactive, meticulous, well organized, possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team
